The Winnipeg Police Half Marathon and Two Person Relay is a sucessful running event created in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
All monies generated through pledges and donations from our event go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. Absolutely no money from personal pledges or donations are used to off-set any operating costs of our event. In fact, it doesn't even go through our hands.
The WPS Half Marathon Committee works directly with the Canadian Cancer Society to fund specific cancer research projects. When possible, we always chose projects within Manitoba or with a Manitoba connection. Monies raised from the WPS Half Marathon go directly to the project we choose. We often give priority to research projects that also have dollar matching grants so every donation dollar we receive has double the impact.
